• 20 company employee commuter habits surveys completed (2000 employees) - requiring compilation and summarization of surveys, using staff resources.  Many more companies are preparing to implement the survey.
• Working with York Region Transit (YRT) to promote a 15% discount for businesses
• Developing a shuttle bus program with York Catholic District School Board
• Attended over 300 events to promote and raise awareness

Fresh off the heels of Carpool Week, Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill continued promotion of ridesharing and the CarpoolZone contest. The Week's carpool contest saw CarpoolZone registrations from Markham & Richmond Hill increase by over 60%. SC Markham, Richmond Hill Bike to Work Day “Business Park Challenge” - May 25, 2009 - partnered with MMM Group, iTRANS Consulting Inc. and York Region Police - 20 companies and 85 employees participated

Clean Air Commute week in June - SC Markham, Richmond Hill partnered with Pollution Probe and Metrolinx

Sept. 22, 2009 - 56 drivers switched to public transit and participated in SC Markham, Richmond Hill Car Free Day promotion.
