What is Bike to Work Day?

Bike to Work Day encourages local employees in Markham and Richmond Hill to commute to work by bicycle, which is healthier for you, the environment, and your wallet. It’s a fun, safe, active transit building event that celebrates cycling in Markham and Richmond Hill, while offering those that may be new to cycling an opportunity to build their confidence to Bike to Work.

Smart Commute Markham, Richmond Hill's 4th Annual Bike-to-Work Day

Over one hundred employees in Markham and Richmond Hill participated in our 4th annual Bike to Work Day event on Monday May 30, 2011. Enthusiasm filled the streets, where cyclists traveled 6 km from 100 Commerce Valley Drive (MMM Group building) to 100 York Boulevard (HDR|iTRANS building) and back in support of sustainable transit. Participants received free bike tune ups, continental breakfast, and other exciting giveaways. Prizes were also drawn, which included a brand new bike!
